Nominating Petition Period Notice

Notice is hereby given that the first day to circulate petitions for 1st Ward Alderman, 2nd Ward Alderman, 3rd Ward Alderman, and 4th Ward Alderman for the City of Palos Heights for the April 4, 2023, Consolidated Election is September 20, 2022.

Notice is hereby given that the office of the City Clerk in and for the City of Palos Heights at 7607 W. College Drive, Palos Heights, Illinois will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2022, through Friday, December 16, 2022, and Monday, December 19, 2022, for the purpose of accepting nominating papers for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 4, 2023 for the following offices:

• Alderman, 1st Ward; 4-year term

• Alderman, 2nd Ward; 4-year term

• Alderman, 3rd Ward; 4-year term

• Alderman, 4th Ward; 4-year term

Persons seeking information about the process and requirements for a candidate seeking election to the above offices can consult the 2023 Candidate Guide for the Consolidated Election which can be found on the Illinois State Board of Elections website, at www.elections.il.gov. Further questions regarding required documents to file as a candidate for election should be directed to the Illinois State Board of Elections at 312-814-6440 or to an attorney.

Objection Period Notice

Notice is hereby given that the office of the City Clerk in and for the City of Palos Heights at 7607 W. College Drive, Palos Heights, Illinois will be open during regular business hours from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, December 20, 2022, through Friday, December 23, 2022, and Tuesday, December 27, 2022, for the purpose of accepting objections to nominating papers for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 4, 2023. Please note City offices are closed December 26, 2022.

Any objections to nominating petitions must be filed with the office of the City Clerk (who received the original petition) within 5 business days following the last day of the petition filing period, as provided above.
