A Message from Mayor Straz

A Message from Mayor Straz

March 23, 2020

During this time of caution as our country responds to the threat of COVID-19, the City of Palos Heights is here to help you get through this. We ask that you react to the facts and not to various rumors that tend to circulate during these times of uncertainty. Know that the City can be a source of fact versus rumor.

Our City departments are working together to address concerns and do our part to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus, including the following CLOSURES:  Recreation Center, Library, and Lake Katherine Nature Center.

The Police Department will remain fully operational.

City Hall is currently CLOSED to the general public, but staff are still on duty for City business. Call 708-361-1800 ext. 1 during normal business hours for assistance. Please utilize the payment drop box (in front next to the mailbox) and online payment options at

Please check on the seniors and other vulnerable residents in your neighborhood. Make sure they have basic necessities.

Finally, I would like to encourage everyone to continue to patronize our local restaurants at this time. Most restaurants are offering delivery service and carryout options. We can also support them by purchasing gift cards.

For assistance, call:
Police non-emergency 708-448-5060

City Hall 708-361-1800

PLOWS (senior resources) 708-361-0219

Please remember – this situation is temporary and we will all get through this together.

Warm regards,

Bob Straz
