The Palos Heights Police Department aims to provide a safe community environment in Palos Heights with the highest level of service and professionalism possible. The department is a full-service organization that takes on a wide variety of responsibilities and challenges on a daily basis. Palos Heights Police Officers are committed to safeguarding and serving the community that makes Palos Heights a great place to live and work.
The Police Department plays an active role in community functions, such as National Night Out, D.A.R.E. youth education programs, Special Olympics, and annual community events. The department takes pride in interacting with our community members and helping area residents and businesses get involved with enhancing the quality of life in Palos Heights.
The department is headed by Chief William Czajkowski and currently has 28 sworn police officers, as well as several full-time and part-time civilian employees. The department partners with many outside agencies and is part of several multi-jurisdictional teams, including Federal Task Force programs, the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, the Southwest Major Case Unit, and the 5th District SWAT Team.
